Patron’s day was celebrated at MGM CPS in a blessed and solemn function to commemorate the holy life and blessings of Saint Metropolitan Geevarghese Mar Gregorios ,the first canonised saint of the Malankara Orthodox Church of Kerala.
Father Gheevarghese Kanianthara ,the secretary to the Malankara orthodox diocese , Trivandrum was the chief guest to the gathering.The programme started with high notes of a mellifluous prayer song praising the divine.
In the welcome address, all the guests and well wishers were welcomed cordially and the Holy lamp was lighted .
After the lighting of holy lamp by the chief guest and the Principal , the light was handed over to the young students .
Matthew 5 ,the fifth chapter of the Gospel of Matthew from The Holy bible was read out adding solemnity and serenity to the divine atmosphere.
After the welcome speech , The chief guest addressed the gathered students and enlightened them on the importance of following the principles upholded by the revered Parumala Tirumeni .He asked the students to stay away from the vices of world and not to be lured by temptations. The students were advised to harness their anger and stay away from toxic people .He further highlighted that Prayer and disciplined life were the prerequisites for a successful life . A brief documentary on the blessed life of the holy saint was screened for all the students from grade III onwards.
The Principal Ms Krishna P Nair addressed the student asking them to be inspired to lead a life filled with compassion and discipline.
The solemn occasion was made merry with the sparkling angels from our primary sections .
‘To be humane is to be holy ‘; upholding this as the guiding words of the patron saint the solemn occasion concluded with a vote of thanks .
